How to create a creative edge for an image ?

Lets start this tutorial,  look to this picture as an example :

Step1 : Make a selection inside  the picture using selection tool .

step2 : Invert the selection to select the outer area by pressing  togather “  Ctrl + shift + I “.

step 3 :  Use the quick mask by pressing the Q button .

step 4 :  Go to filter —> Distort —> Ripple . Then change the amount of ripple by reducing to -512 % , and press ok.

step 5 : Turn off the guick mask by pressing again Q button, After that Invert the selection again by pressing ” Ctrl + Shift + I “.

step 6:  Press ” Ctrl + shift +J ” to move the selection to a new Layer.

step 7 : Highlight the background layer . Go to Edit –> Fill . change the background color to any color you want , i choosed white color here.

This is what you get finally , i did extra things Like Drop shadow  to the inside picture and gradient to the background Layer. and thats what you get :

Note : If you want to make gradient to a background layer you need to change it to normal layer by clicking twice on it.
